In 2014, I took my first job in public health in Madera County, California. I was on the ground delivering direct services including health education, care navigation, and connecting families to resources they desperately needed. The people I was serving had been failed by systems and by workers who came and went. They had every reason not to trust me. So I had to earn it. Every conversation, every referral, every small moment of trust. That changed the way I understood this work entirely.
Over the next decade, I moved from direct service into program leadership, and then into senior leadership. I was no longer the one sitting across from clients. I was building and directing the programs that put other people in those rooms. I designed frameworks, secured millions in funding, hired and led teams, and managed multi-million dollar portfolios so that the organizations doing this work could actually sustain it. And in every role, I carried what I learned in Madera. The communities who need these programs the most are the ones who can least afford for them to be poorly designed, underfunded, or abandoned.
I worked for and partnered with organizations doing extraordinary work who struggled to secure resources, struggled to be heard, and struggled to build the systems to implement what they visioned for their communities and sustain what had already been built. Lynk exists to close that gap.
